Essential oils have a number of benefits from health to skin. If you have a headache, you have an essential oil for that, have a hard time sleeping; you have an essential oil for that. Have a skin problem; you definitely have an essential oil for that. I can go on and on about telling you the potential benefits of each and every essential oil found on our planet.
And, for skin, essential oils are just as miraculous as any expensive anti-ageing therapy. Essential oils can give you clear and wrinkle free skin when combined appropriately with equally effective carrier oils. These 5 essential oils give amazing results if you are not a big fan of huge commercial beauty products.
Carrot Seed Oil
This essential oil has wonderful rejuvenating properties and is also known as a skin detoxing oil. Carrot seed oil is quite popular in several anti-ageing products. For anti-ageing, I use several products and we should always try using products with natural ingredients likelife cell all in one anti-ageing cream that contains all natural ingredients. Carrot seed oil along with softening wrinkles, also helps healing eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and other skin rashes and irritations. It blends extremely well with geranium essential oil, which lifts and nurtures many skin ailments.

Neroli Oil
This oil has some really amazing calming and soothing properties. It has a light sweet floral fragrance and is even used in perfumes. Neroli oil is good for all skin types: sensitive, dry, oily and mature skin. It is great for lifting the face skin and removing wrinkles by increasing the blood circulation to the face.
RECOMMENDED: Neroli Essential Oil from Fushi
It blends well with chamomile, geranium, rose and lavender essential oils which when combined together work wonders for the skin.
Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense essential oil has some great antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits to the skin, making it ideal for acne-prone skin. It is great for anti-ageing. It is a natural toner and decreases the appearance of pores and evens out the skin tone. Frankincense oil is cytophylactic, which helps protect existing skin cells and encourages new cell growth; thereby reducing wrinkles, tightening skin, and reducing the appearance of scars. It also helps soothe chapped, dry skin.
Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
This is one of my favorites because of its rich floral fragrance. It is good for oily skin, as it helps control oil production whilst minimising breakouts. It regenerates skin cells, thereby smoothening fine lines and improving skin elasticity. It is great for all skin types.
Using concentrated essential oils is not what is preferred. Essential oil must be combined with one or two carrier oils to dilute its effect. Essential oils when combined with carrier oils show some amazing results.
What Carrier Oils to use?
Some of the best carrier oils include:
Grapeseed Oil: Grapeseed is full of healthy antioxidants, vitamin C and vitamin E. It is perfect for sensitive skin and does not produce any allergic reactions. Grapeseed oil hydrates the skin without making it greasy like other oils can do. It has a deep penetrating power which reaches into the deeper layers of the skin. It even helps tighten the pores.
Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is one of the best moisturising oils. It increases the lipid levels on the surface of the skin. It’s perfect for fighting wrinkles and itchiness. It has a great source of anti-oxidants and vitamin A, C and E.
Olive Oil: Olive is the most popular and healthy oil ever. It contains fatty acids, like other carrier oils here. It also has a unique combination of antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals and protect skin from the daily assaults that lead to premature aging. Olive oil also fades old acne scars and age spots due to presence of natural anti-inflammatories like quercetin and kaempferol in it.
Passion Fruit Seed Oil: The oil is extracted from the seeds of the passion fruit, and is rich in fatty acids that feed the skin to look healthy and young. It penetrates into the skin without making it greasy. It even encourages cellular growth and repairs due to its high vitamin A content.
Raspberry Seed Oil: Raspberry helps replenish moisture, but it’s extremely light, so it won’t clog pores. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, but is best known for its broad-spectrum sun protection, helping shield skin from damaging UV rays.
